Nike has always played a big part in football. They have done a lot of marketing and such around the world cups though, last world cup they ran the ‘Write the future’ Ad campaign. This time around, for the 2014 World Cup, they unleash their ‘Risk Everything’ campaign.

Nike’s World Cup Ad Campaigns
These ad campaigns of Nike are usually player psychic orientated – meaning they focus on what the players are going through mentally when it comes to the World Cup year. The 2010 World Cup’s ad campaign, ‘’, was very upbeat with a serious underlying concept – the world is watching you make history. That is history, check out the new ‘Risk Everything’.
Pressure Carves Out Legends
This year’s ‘Risk Everything’ is much more sobering and serious. It depicts how star players face enormous amounts of pressure building up to the World Cup. The ad shows how Brazil’s Neymar, England’s Wayne Rooney, and Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo are in constant battle with the idea of not measuring up to the expectations – ranging from the hopes of a nation to weight a shirt carries.
What Did You Think About The Ad?
It was subtle with glamour, and conveyed a very heavy message. The three football stars looked nervous yet confident. This mixture defines football, because you may be the best player but that does not mean you will perform on the day.
The Message
These players carry a lot of responsibility for their countries. This responsibility brings unimaginable pressure. However, playing safe never led to anything spectacular. Doing something never done before will need them to – ‘Risk Everything’.
