The Mobile Gamepad
The app is in the Beta stage right now, but is already available for download on Android devices that it is compatible with. As long as you’re running Android 2.3 or above, you’re good to go. Of course, the app doesn’t work on its own, and needs to be supported by a desktop program that keeps things connected.
How It Works
You have to install the which comes in zip file format or directly as well, from the Play Store link of the Mobile Gamepad app. The program talks to the app on your Android device and supports several traditional controls (as of now) like the D-pad, the four button setup to the right which includes the triangle, circle, x and square, as well as gesture controls.
Easy Access
Letting you access the games list easily, the gamepad provides separate controls for every game, and even allows you to run the game from the app. You can also access and control the volume of your Windows PC with the volume rocker of your Android handheld device.
Additional Features
Apart from eliminating the need to use your PC while gaming at all, the gamepad also provides some cool additional features, like the accelerometer. Using the built-in accelerometer of your Android device, the app makes racing or flight simulator games that much better.
Future Plans
Future updates of the Mobile Gamepad app will present users with increased functionality and a refined gaming experience altogether. Features to be added include Bluetooth connection, fluid and flexible direction controls and voice commands.
