The Kids Of This Generation Can’t Relate To The Walkman
The 90’s don’t seem like a very long time ago for most of us, but if you ask the kids of this generation – they simply cannot relate. A sure favourite from the era gone by was the walkman music player. Put that device in front of your kids or younger siblings, and the reactions are priceless.

The Fine Brothers
Published on YouTube by , the following video captures the reactions of some kids as they take a look at the (ancient?) Walkman. The video was compiled by simply presenting the players to a bunch of children of ages 6 to 13. Upon going viral soon after its release, the video now has up to 7 million views on the site.
Do you Feel Ancient Now?
As the baffled children try to make sense of the Walkman, you can’t help but feel a little ancient. In fact, you’ve probably never felt this ancient. But then again, what did you expect? This is a generation that has grown up with an iPad in their hands instead of a colouring book.
“I Don’t Get What It Is,”
The first reactions of the kids on seeing the walkman ranged from wonder, amusement, fascination to even horror. When the ‘interviewer’ asked them what they think they device is, the kids let their imaginations run wild and came up with guesses like ‘walkie talkie’ and ‘boombox’, until one finally got it right.
So Messed Up
When the children were briefed on how the walkman works, they were distressed to the point that they labelled the entire idea really messed up. The requirement of antiquated headphones just to listen to music on the go is something they simply couldn’t comprehend.
Missing Out On Awesomeness
Children of the younger generation have missed out on so much coolness. Never having gotten a chance to play outdated songs on an outdated cassette player, these kids have lost out on an experience worth cherishing. An experience that was frustrating, yes, yet memorable.
