The Genius Behind It
Australian electrician from Adelaide, Michael Jenkins devised and developed this impressive skating innovation called Wheel skates, under the brand name Chariot Skates.
Presently the director of Hong Kong based company Chariot Skates, Michael’s early life was packed with a lot of sports including cycling, roller-skating, ice-skating, and skiing in the Swiss Alps. He also has a background of factory maintenance, construction and mining. Aside from all this, he had his own truck deflectors manufacturing business and work as an electrical contractor.
The Story
In the early 80’s, Michael cycled around Europe and that’s when the idea came to him. The discomfort that came from spending long periods on the bicycle made him think up a solution that incorporated the flexibility of skating with the mobility of cycling.
Integrating skates with a cycle was as plain to him as the sun in the sky, and, tired of trying to figure out why no one else had done this already, he started development on Wheelskates in late 2004.
Why Wheelskates Are Incredible
The Wheelskates consist of pneumatic tyre-like wheels with each foot suspended below the axle of the wheel. There are several merits, the most apparent being how it clearly sets you free from the restraints of shoes with compact wheels.
You can skate on rough or grassy terrain, and expect high stability and maneuverability while skating. Made out of light weight composite carbon, you are in for an effortless and tranquil skating experience with no limitations on foot extension-flex.
How About That?
The Wheelskates provide you with great aerobic exercise, while affecting your joints much lesser than other forms of exercise.
