Peter Stewart unveiled his latest series of photos titled, “The Stacked Urban Architecture of Hong Kong.” At first glance they could be mistaken for a lego composition but taking a closer look these photographs reveal one of the most densely populated places in the world, Hong Kong.

Hong Kong: more than seven million crammed into an area measuring just 424 square miles. Masses of repetitive high-rise apartment buildings that become a hypnotizing composition. The photos are shot from the ground giving a new, stunning perspective of life in Honk Kong: wet laundry hangs from window and glasses are all different and colorful.

Peter Stewart said:

“A lot of people see high rise buildings as drab and an eyesore, but I look at them in the positive light and actually think they have a lot of appeal” and added “Whenever I look at the photo’s I wonder who’s in that apartment, and what they are doing, and this just gives so much depth to the photo’s and I can sit looking at them for hours”.

Stewart finds beauty and animate an otherwise impersonal monotone skyline of urban mosaic of Hong Kong’s public housing. All of these photos and more are now available for purchase through Stewert’s website, get inspired!
