As the era of the smartwatches dawns upon us, the world seems to be introduced to a new smartwatch every week. Keeping up the trend, here is a great smartwatch concept named Span.

What the developers claim about this one though, is that it is not a smartwatch, but simply a regular watch with smart features. Which in most worlds would be a smartwatch, but whatever.
Span Is Not A Smartwatch
Aesthetically pleasing, Span was created by a design studio in San Fran, USA called Box Clever. There is no doubt that this smartwatch is one of the more handsome ones out there, and could even trounce Motorola’s upcoming Moto 360 smartwatch.
Jump Hour Mechanism
Using a unique method of time display, Span features two halves of a regular analog watch with a perforated band running across it. The top half displays the hours, while the bottom half the minutes, and the stylish band shows time in the digital format.
Smart OLED Display
Equipped with an OLED screen, the black mesh band is capable of showing notifications like messages, reminders, alerts or incoming calls as well, and this is where the smart watch features step in.
Simple Yet Futuristic
Span doesn’t have additional advanced features like a microphone speakeror speaker, because it was not designed to replace the smartphone. Also, the display is not touchscreen-enabled so as to make sure that the jog dial built into its bezel doesn’t become obsolete.
Recharging And Finishing
To recharge your Span smartwatch, you simply have to use the micro USB port underneath it. The body is expected to be made out of stainless steel that is polished, as well as black ceramic with a glossy finish.
Now Only A Concept
This high-tech beauty is unfortunately only a concept currently, but the developing team is all set for putting it into production. As long as someone is willing to take on the project, that is.
