Trick Or Treat for UNICEF is an incentive that has been running for around 64 years, and over these years, it has successfully raised millions of dollars which go towards various worthy causes.
Whimsy On The Streets Of Santiago
The advertisement is directed by Diego Rojas Sastre (and his other work can be found here). It’s handled masterfully, and ends up being both light hearted and thought provoking.
A sunny sunday afternoon in Santiago, Chile, brings with it an odd sight. A man completely covered in pink cotton candy walks through the streets and arrives at a crowded local park. Predictably, droves of children swarm the man and grab chunks of cotton candy off him. Before long, the children are sated and most of his delicious pink coating is gone.
Stay Informed, Stay Safe
The levity is brought to a halt when the now cotton-candy-less man hands out cards with the message – “It’s that easy for a pedophile to lure a child. let us be alert.” The thoughtful, and in some cases, slightly concerned faces of the parents clearly show the impact this unusual juxtaposition of whimsy and awareness has.
Definitely a creative way to get a message across, which will leave a lasting impression in the minds of people. Awareness about pedophilia has been growing in recent years, and this campaign is another step in the right direction as far as protecting children is concerned.
