World’s Most Dangerous Snooze At Monte Piana
Suspended thousands of feet high up in the air, extreme slackline enthusiasts from around the world gathered to experience the most thrilling nap of their lives. Special slacklines – around 18 of them – were set up to host rows of hammocks for them to chill out on. These enthusiasts are far from fearing heights; after all, they have to tightrope their way to the “beds”.

A One-Of-A-Kind Meeting Spot
The Highline Meeting boasts of being the largest gathering of slackliners (these are people who walk on narrow cords suspended in the air). Held amidst the glorious Italian alps in Monte Piana, it offers a unique 360 degree view to its patrons. The place has a sad history filled with war and bloodshed, and the Highline Meeting is attempting to recreate a positive and passionate vibe by bringing these inspiring people together.
High-Altitude Hammocks: The Highlight
For this exciting hammock event, a special strong highline was set up to bear the weight of all the nappers at once. It was suspended – hold you breath – 50m above the ground, and it was 50m in length. And this was all 2200-2400m above sea level! 16 such hammocks played host to 22 daredevils who had the snooze of a lifetime, with the best view of the Alps.
Other Aerial Agendas
Besides the highlight of the hammocks, there were many activities planned for the meeting, which lasted around a week. 18 highlines were set up at the meeting, ranging from 6 to 100+ meter length. They hosted a fun team slackliners contest, where they encouraged fellow mountaineering enthusiasts to bond. Slackline movies and presentations were also part of the agenda, and they invited special guests from both the current and the past generation of slackliners.
