In this modern age of fast-progressing technology, not many of us require the services of a pen anymore, yet when we do need it; it is more often than necessary, out of ink. But, with changing times come better solutions, and here is a super impressive one.

Combining a pencil’s graphite smoothness with the uniformity of an ink pen, here is an innovation you don’t want to miss out on. Desinged by the car décor company Pininfarina, this wonder was presented at the global stationery trade fair Paperworld in Frankfurt, Germany. What is really unvelievable though, is the fact that Pininfarina is a design company previously involved with Ferrari, Maserati, Fiat, Peugeot and the Alfa Romeo.

Pen Meets Luxury

So with an extremely affluent clientele background, it would not be surprising that Pininfarina created a pen that screams luxury from every angle.

Named the 4.EVER Pininfarina Cambiano (PDF), this pen is sleek and classy with a wooden middle part that encloses a machined aluminium non-hollow barrel. The tip is made from a metal alloy called the ‘ethergraph’, and this is where the magic lies – it can perpetually write endlessly.

The concept of an ethergraph is not entirely known, but it is expected to mirror the idea behind the pen released by Vat19. In short, the tip deposits small fragments of metal onto the page as you write. These shiny lines resemble a the marks left by a graphite lead, but will last forever because they are actually metal.

This Pen Has Its Own Book

The 4.EVER Pininfarina Cambiano (PDF) pen is accompanied by a special notebook made of an eco-friendly, water-resistant paper made from powderd stone called stone paper.

The price of this invention isn’t known yet, but you can be more than positive that it will ruin make your wallet very airy.
