Y-40 Swimming Pool Will Be The Deepest In The World

In Abano Terme, Italy, the construction of the deepest swimming pool in the world had begun in a hotel named Terme Millepini. Project architect and manager of the hotel, Emanuele Boaretto, started excavation for the Y-40 recently, which is a concept swimming pool for now.

Devoted to driving professionals and amateurs, the pool will be the deepest on the planet, achieving its depth world record with a level of -40 meters below surface.
Y-40 The Deep Joy
The Y-40 is being designed with freedivers in mind, and will be distinguished with its additional feature of thermal water that will fill it. This will remain at a constant temperature of 32/33 degrees C.
Impressive Volume Characteristics
The main tank of the Y-40 will be 20m by 18m and will incorporate a depth of 10 meters, which is nothing short of impressive. One side of the pool will offer a shaft that is 6m in diameter and descend below to 40 meters. Trouncing previous record holder Nemo 33 in depth, the Y-40 will measure a staggering 4300 cubic meters, which is way, way more than Nemo’s 2400 cubic meters.
Heaven For Diving Enthusiasts
Supported by the Boaretto Group, the Y-40 pool is expected to be completed by the end of this year. Offering diving enthusiasts the freedom to dive and swim without a wetsuit, The Y-40 is designed to have various depths of caves that provide for technical underwater diving.
A massive size like that would support a wide range of activities all year round, from beginner scuba diving training to professional diving for experts, and photo sessions for photographer and film producers.

Housed within the complex of the 4-star Hotel Terme Millepini, the Y-40 swimming pool will be a hundred percent Italian in its design and construction. Boaretto is a renowned architect and his collaboration with high profile professionals in various underwater sports will only result in the making of the world’s greatest swimming pool.
