#Samsung Planning A Three-Sided Galaxy Screen
Samsung proved it was willing to stretch the boundaries when it released the Galaxy Round, but does it stop there? Once again, it is reported that Samsung is continuing to manipulate the screens of smartphones, with a new three-sided smartphone screen in development. According to a Bloomberg report, the smartphone screen will cover the front and two sides of the device.
Using Samsung’s Youm technology, the three-sided display will be an upgraded version of the flexible OLED technology featured in the Galaxy Round. The screen is made of plastic instead of glass, allowing the material to be both flexible and strong.
It is reported that users may be able to receive incoming notifications on the side screen, while using the main screen for something else. As Samsung continues to innovate in the screen department, it may be a matter of time before we see a 360-degree screened smartphone! Check out how the OLED technology works:
