If you are among those who always want to know exactly how many calories is contained in your food, then TellSpec is exactly right for you.
This small portable gadget contains within it a spectrometer capable of analyzing food, to understand what its chemical components are, and then alert the user to allergens, components, nutrients, calories and ingredients present in it. It also manages to keep a diary with everything that you ate every day, so you know exactly what calories you forfeited.
It works by scanning your food and then uploading the data to a special Web TellSpecserver, which analyzes it and then creates a report that is then sent to the user’s smartphone. In fact Tellspec is not yet in production. It is a project published on the crowdfunding website Indiegogo and is turning to the public to try to raise the funds necessary to start the production phase and mass marketing. This gadget is available in advance for $150.
