#miCoach SMARTRUN Adidas’ First Smart Watch
As smartphones and tablets rapidly spread across the world and an increasing number of companies have decided to invest significant resources in the production of wearable devices (ex. smart-watches and smart-glasses).
While Google continues to work on Google Glass and Samsung on the Galaxy Gear, Adidas has officially announced its first smart-watch, miCoach SMART RUN.
It was presented at a conference in San Francisco; Paul Gaudio, Head of Interactive at Adidas, has officially confirmed the production of this wrist device. Unlike the competition, this device will not need a smartphone to work. Designed especially for athletes, it has GPS to track the distance, heartbeat analysis that recommends appropriate training advice, and even flash memory to listen to music with your Bluetooth headset.
The launch is scheduled for November 1st, 2013 at a price of $399. At the moment it is not clear whether it will be also distributed in other areas besides the United States.
