Hailing from France, Romain Laurent is a photographer who does seem very weird things with the photos he clicks. No, it’s not what you think. Romain creates a series of absurd and twisted looping portraits every week, and every one of these pictures is a must-see.

Animation At Its Quirkiest
The series of eccentric animated GIFs are titled ‘One Loop Portrait’ by Romain and are the perfect visual to help you with de-stressing after a tough week. The photos as surreal, hilarious and ironic at the same time, and are a challenge of sorts to Romain.
Breaking Free
Romain started the project as a means to escape from the pressure of commercial work last September, and has two series so far. In case you missed the first part, here it is: “One Loop – 10 absurd animated GIFs by Romain Laurent”.
New Portrait Every Week
He creates a new GIF for his series every week, and simply adds them in. The portraits are definitely the coolest you’ve ever laid eyes on, but you may want to look away after a while to avoid feeling really retarded.
Funny Yet A Little Disturbing
It all depends on the setting you’re looking at these pictures in. For example, if you were to look at the animated GIF of the woman slapping her face away to glory while on the way to work, it could make you lol. But in the dead of the night when you’re not getting any sleep, not so much.
Low Pressure
All in all, the project is aimed at breaking out of the box, which it does quite well. The bizarre and outlandish type of photos gives Romain a low-pressure technique to be experimental and creative with zero expectations. His intention for creating the silly series is to explore a hybrid medium and be spontaneous while sticking to the weekly deadline.
