C-1, The Two-Wheeled Car – Imagination Made Reality
Lit Motors Lifestyle from Danny Kim on Vimeo.
We all have imagined it, a two-wheeled car, but never thought that it would manifest in reality. LIT Motors made this imagination into reality in 2012 – the C-1. This EV can balance itself, and although it is a two-wheeler, it is sealed up with doors and windows, like a car.

Ride Or Drive?
It looks like a bike, a bike with a roof, windows and doors. It can move swiftly through traffic and can park in tight spots, but I would have to say that it is more car than bike. Mainly because it uses a steering wheel and can balance itself, which means no curvy turns that you can do on a bike.
What Can It Do?
Well it can stand without tipping over, thanks to gyroscopes and electrical motors that keep it firmly balanced. It has an in-built sound system, airbags, seat belts, and other car-like safety features. It can take one passenger in the back seat, for a drive.
Forget About Fossil Fuels
It is an EV, so it runs on electric, it can travel approximately 200 miles before recharge. Although it’s an EV, the C-1 shouldn’t be underestimated, it can go from 0 to 60 mph under 6 seconds. And has a Curb Weight of 800 pounds.
Price And Availability
The C-1 costs around $24,000, but it is not on the market yet. There is a $500 charge for pre-orders from the first batch of production, and $250 for the second batch. Each batch is a production of 10,000 units. This is a new product, with new technology, so the high prices are justified, but it’s only a matter of time.
