Dangerdust are two anonymous students who create these inspirational quote designs and leave them in a classroom at Columbus College of Art and Design every week. Ideally, the duo was looking for something that was motivational enough to make them get up and do work every week.

They then decided to go ahead and share these motivational quotes with public, or to be specific their classrooms, and that’s where the journey started.

Sharing The Inspiration

Students, faculty and observers alike at the Columbus College of art and design have been surprised by these incredible chalkboard drawings every week. The anonymous artists are surprised too, because they didn’t think they would have kept it up for a long time and got the amount of attention they have.

Planning And Drawing

Every board is carefully planned out one day before it is to be chalked by these talented individuals. Choosing the quote and person takes a whole lot of time, and the two start out by putting a rough sketch on the board. The actual process of chalking the board takes them at least 6 hours, while their longest creation took 11 hours.

No Breaks

Completing the chalking in one fell swoop, the pair doesn’t take breaks in between their escapades, except to dance, as they claim. And the reason why they decided to stay anonymous is simply because its ‘fun’.

Social Media

With all their drawings up on social media sites, the artists have been enjoying a rather exaggerated amount of popularity. The attention gives them an identity of sorts to further their motivating cause.

Public Art

What you need to know about public art is that there will definitely be some people who will come in and smudge the board, or run their finger through it. But that’s how it is, and everyone else can be really supportive as well. You can follow them on  or view high-res versions on this site.
