Merger Vs. Acquisition, The dealings
This 25th of March 2014, Facebook announced that they are acquiring Oculus. From the information available on this deal, this is not a complete merger, and frankly, it shouldn’t be. The acquisition is for $2 billion, out of which, only $400 million in cash. The remaining $1.6 billion will be dealt in Facebook shares. From about the deal, we can deduce that Oculus is going to be initially focused on virtual reality for gaming, and eventually on communication and social experiences.
