The Highest (And Scariest) Water Slide In The World
As if high water slides weren’t scary enough, here is a point of view video of the tallest water slide in the world, aptly named Verrückt, which in German translates to ‘Insane’. The video was released just ahead of the Verrückt’s opening in Kansas City previous month, and gives a sort of teaser of what it’s like to ride down the slide.

This Is What You’re In For
The same people who created Verrückt created this video by simply sending a camera down the water slide. It is hoped that daredevils and enthusiasts can rejoice or be fearful (whichever suits them best) when they take a look at what they’re in for if they’re heading to Verrückt.
An Almost Vertical Drop
One of the most prominent features of the record-breaking slide apart from its height, of course, is the almost vertical drop that it provides. This has been captured rather impressively in the clip, and the footage is sure to induce an adrenaline rush.
Kansas City Theme Park
At the Kansas City Theme Park, Verrückt will be the newest ride. It has been officially verified as the tallest waterslide on the planet by the Guinness Book of World Records, its height being a towering 51.38 meters which is about 168 ft and 7 inches.
How To Get There
A climb of 264 steps will take you to the top of the slide, where you will be snugly strapped into a four-person raft that will plunge down the slide at speeds of 100 km per hour or 62 mph.
The Ride
The ride has two distinct phases, the first a near-vertical drop that extends for 51.2 meters and after that a ‘hill’ of sorts. Here, the raft will climb and drop five storeys at a time, with a width of about 10 trucks. The whole ride takes just 11 seconds.
