Hointer Presents The Future Of Retail: Automated Stores
Hointer has reinvented shopping with their technology that eliminates the number of on-floor retail workers and creates a very interactive experience. Already partnered with Levi/Dockers on pop shops, it has successfully created cloud based shopping. Instead of having messy and space-consuming inventories displayed on the floor space, retailers would only have to have 1 of every item on display. NFC tags with QR codes are placed on each product that connect users with product specifications and even customer reviews. Items can also be requested via smartphone, and be delivered automatically to your own personal change-room, within 30 seconds.
Technology has been making significant leaps within retail; Amazon’s drones delivering online packages within one day, made waves last month. Automation is the future, as retailers attempt to increase profit margins by turning towards technology. Some restaurants like Germany’s ‘s Baggers restaurant have already eliminated a good chunk of their costs spent on servers while creating a unique dining experience, by having customers order food on a touch screen and a spirally conveyer belt delivering it.
As the future progresses and we drift towards The Jetson’s lifestyle, Will technology ever be able to fully replace humans in retail?
