Being a driveable prototype, the Alfieri was not made to just be a piece of auto-show tinsel. Hop on as we explore the many exciting features that this vehicle will include in its production model.
Engine
The Alfieri is reported to use the same platform as the Maserati Ghibli and Quattroporte sedans. The major difference though, would be the turbocharged V-6 engines. Although the concept was integrated with a 4.7-litre V-8 and built on a shortened GranTurismo, that will not be the case with the production model.
The Alfieri’s Position In The Maserati Lineup
With only two versions of the 3.0-litre turbocharged V-6 in its arsenal, Maserati plans to position the Alfieri just behind the GranTurismo in the lineup. The Alfieri is anticipated to be a sportier and cost-effective option to the Jaguar F-Type or Porsche 911.
Heritage In The Name
Named after the most prominent of the six brothers who founded the Italian auto company, Alfieri Maserati is loaded with heritage passed down by generations. Even still, the production version of this vehicle could be named GranSport.
The Maserati Sports Car
From the change of name and athletic specifications, it is now quite evident that the production model of the Maserati Alfieri is going to be a sports car. A car of this kind by the famed luxury manufacturer is sure to sell brilliantly, not to mention expand the sales volumes. Launch dates of the Alfieri are not known, but it will not happen anytime soon, because apparently the Levante SUV is lined up for launch at the latest.
