Molson Beer Fridge To Celebrate Canada’s Birthday
The Molson Beer Fridge has made its rounds in Europe and Indonesia, and is now back in Canada for the country’s birthday celebration. The fridge only opens if the national song, ‘O Canada’, is sung to it correctly. Yes, you read that right.

On July 1st, 2014, Canadians were surprised with a rather patriotism-inducing treat when the Molson Beer Fridge made its way through parts of Ottawa.
A Patriotic Campaign
The beer fridge was created by Rethink, an ad agency based out of Canada, and placed by beer company Molson Canadian around Canada in honor of Canada Day 2014. Apart from customers, the fridge has also captured the attention beer companies worldwide.
Sing It To Win It
The patriotic campaign also released a video titled “Beer Fridge” that has a handful of Canadians singing to the fridge in fully animated spirit. The passersby are, of course, very confused at first, circling the beer fridge while trying to comprehend the instruction inscribed on it. But as human nature would have it, who wouldn’t do anything for a beer?
Making Mistakes
While the people who sing the Canadian national anthem perfectly get the beer they were crooning for, there are also many failures among the undertakers. In the event that an enthusiast makes a mistake while singing the song, a loud buzzer sound is emitted by the fridge.
Emotional Renditions
As you witness passersby performing touching renditions of the national anthem, you can’t help but feel the flow of national pride in the clip. Taking their baseball caps off and holding hands in full ardor, Canadians sure do know how to express their patriotism towards their country.
Other Versions Of The Beer Fridge
The Molson Beer Fridge has promoted the national passion of Canada outside of Canada as well, like in Europe last year. In June, 2013, the Beer Fridge stood in many random spots of Indonesia as well as Europe, to give Canadian expats access to beer by scanning their passports.
