Most rumors about the iPhone 6, to its release in late 2014, have revolved around an increase in its screen size and display. This new update will give you some figures to better imagine what it would look like.
Super Large Screen Size
The iPhone 5 was the first to increase the screen size of the original iPhone from 3.5 inches to 4 inches. Next-gen iPhones are expected to show a gradual increase in screen sizes as well, and this is where the assumption is rooted from.
Apple is expected to experiment with screen sizes between 4.7 inches to 5.7 inches for the iPhone 6, at the end of which, the smartphone will probably hit the phablet category.
The Competition
Entering the large screen territory, the multinational company will have to face competition from the 4.5-inch Nokia Lumia 1020 and the 5-inch Samsung Galaxy S4 or even tablets like the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
Two Different Sizes
The grapevine has suggested that Apple will probably release the iPhone 6 in two different sizes, with slightly different features, similar to the two phone lineup that the world saw earlier with the iPhone 5.
Sapphire Display
Perhaps the biggest change for the phone will be the use of durable sapphire for its display. The phone is expected to have a thinner chassis, and a bezel-free design.
Things That Will Not Change
Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, has indicated that the resolution, power consumption and app quality will not be affected in any way as the screen size increases.
