The Baddest Of Them All
Created by the team of ad experts Wieden+Kennedy, this Nike commercial is titled ‘The Baddest’, and as you may have understood, features Kevin Durrant, or is at least focused entirely on him. Also making appearances in the video are stars like Chris Mullin, George Gervin and Charles Oakley among others.
Basketball Cameos
The video is heavily focused on cameos of basketball games by legends with Dick Gregory, the comedian and civil rights activist, as a narrator of sorts. The commercial will air on US national television during the NBA Draft.
Kevin Durrant Is Bad
Sticking to the theme of the commercial, everyone in the video simply attests to the fact that Kevin Durrant is bad (-ass). The testifiers include Chris Mullin, Charles Oakley Oklahoma City MC Jabee, George “The Iceman aka The Durant Prototype” Gervin and many many others. Kevin Durrant is claimed to be the “BADD35T” man on the planet.
Donate To KD’S Fund
All proceeds for Kevin Durrant’s new range will go to the United Negro Out of College Fund, and his range has only been featured in the opening of this advertisement. The reason why KD is the baddest man on the planet though, is because the shoes ‘KD 35000’ by sportswear giant Nike has been named after him, being the most valuable player of the NBA.
Durrant’s Feats
Standing 6’9 tall, Kevin Durrent has averaged about 32-points per game in his last season, and has also surpassed the record for the most consecutive games, with 25 points in 41 games. KD is the fastest player on the planet and this is mainly why the shoes take his name.
