3D Printing Will Change How We Eat
Janne Kyttanen is an expert in the field, and the creative director of 3D Systems, a printer manufacturing firm. She has created prototypes of printed cereal, pasta and even full-fledges burgers to be able to reveal how the way you eat is going to be transformed with the invention of the 3D printing technology. According to Janne, 3D printed food is not a distant dream considering that we already get printed chocolate presently.
Illustrating The Possibilities
Of course, the prototypes that Janne created were rendered in plastic and plaster instead of actual food materials. This was done to simply illustrate the possibilities of 3D printing your very own hamburger, pizza and gradually things that are weirder that that.
Printing Meals
Printing molecules in tasty combinations to create delicious meals is probably something that you saw in a dream when you were really stoned. But, apparently the technology is almost here to make that a reality.
At present though, what we have is crude tools that are only able to solidify matter by liquid or powder or extruded filaments. The ability to move molecules and atoms is yet to be incorporated, after which you will be able to print potato chips right from your kitchen counter.
Downloading Burgers
A definite hit among the gluttons of the world would be the technology to download burgers, which is a viable market to say the least. The concept of 3D printed food could be expanded to fun items and novelty creations as well, like printing your face on everything you want to eat.
