The Quitbit System

With Quitbit, you can keep track of your progress by learning what time of the day you smoke most, and setting custom plans for reduction. The smart lighter can be limited to light at only specific times, thereby helping build new behaviors. Once you know how long it’s been since your last cigarette, you can challenge yourself to wait longer than the last time.

Accompanying App

Quitbit comes with an accompanying app that gives you a clear understanding of your smoking habits, connected via wireless Bluetooth LE technology. With a display on the lighter itself, you can make smarter decisions with the feedback it provides. This will enable you to cut back gradually at your own pace, and eventually achieve your goals.

How It Works

With the help of a heating element, Quitbit lights your cigarettes for you, and its electronics count every cigarette that is lit. From the display, you can infer how many cigarettes you’ve smoked and how long you’ve stayed without smoking. In the case that you’re sharing your lighter with your friends or flicking it for fun, Quitbit will not count that as a smoke.

Additional Features

The Quitbit app lets you share your progress with the online community or even your friends on Facebook or Twitter. Quitbit can be used alone or with e-cigarettes or the patch, and is the first solution for quitting smoking that comes with hardware.

Kickstarter Campaign

The pocket lighter is on Kickstarter for funding since the beginning of the last month with a goal of $50,000 which funded quite handsomely. Quitbit was developed by two friends looking for an easy way to track the quitting process.
