Red Bull Soapbox Race
A race fueled by creativity and competitive fun, the Red Bull Soapbox Race is an event that welcomes all kinds of amateur drivers. If you were very fascinated with wacky cars as a kid, this is your chance to let your imagination go crazy. Played with teams of four people each, the game requires the participants to build their own car from scratch and drive it in the race.

Construction And Material
Participants can construct cars from any shape and material as long as it is in agreement with the rules and regulations specified by the Red Bull Soapbox Race site. This sport is all about letting your inventiveness go crazy, and previous races have witnessed everything from realistic replicas to the randomest of creations. A Dim Sum trolley, a clown, a life-sized corn on the cob, a Big Ben and even a school bus made appearances at the past races.
Showmanship Points
The competition is gauged on the speed, creativity and showmanship of competitors. As is tradition, candidates usually dress up in crazy costumes and act out skits with customized music soundtracks for their performance.
History Of The Soapbox
Started in the year 2000, the first Red Bull Soapbox Race took place in Brussels, and has spread like wildfire ever since. Around the world, Red Bull has held more than 40 Soapbox races in places like Australia, South Africa, Hensinki, St. Louis, Jamaica and Italy. The UK has witnessed two Soapbox races, and the last one was in 2004.
The Upcoming Race
On Saturday 14th July 2014, the Red Bull Soapbox Race will take place in London. Applications for the event can be submitted till 31st March, and tickets are available on the website. The race will be held on a single day of thrilling action, but contestants will have to arrive on the morning of 13th July.
