Everyone’s been there. You buy a new phone, and your old phone is jailed in your drawer forever, collecting dust as it sits there. Here is SK Telecom’s fine idea of what to do with old phones instead of letting them go to waste.

For their 30th anniversary, the South Korean wireless telecommunications operator, SK Telecom decided to make use of outdates gadgets from the last three decades, to put up a great show.

Old Phones Making Noise

Gathering old phones from the past 30+ years, the company connected all of them to a PC, and created a rather impressive melody with the help of their start up sounds. The result was a discordance of noise that somehow ended up sounding a lot like an orchestra.

30 Years Of Existence

Remembering 30 years of existence of the world’s fastest mobile network, SK Telecom’s creative version of upcycling was almost as stunning as the you’ve come across from time to time. The show made use of 30 cell phones and 4 pagers that dated all the way back to 1984, the year the company was founded.

Classic Nokia Phones

A rare sight, the classic Nokia phones are seen in the video too, like the Nokia 101 that came out in the year 1991. This celebration of the history of cell phones was featured on YouTube as an ad, and was collaborated with help from musicians as well as gadget-geeks.

The Ancient And The Unusuable

It’s almost unbelievable that these classic old phones can’t be used anymore, and are now classified as ancient. Seeing these phones light up and ring for what is probably the last time in their lifetime makes for a rather enterprising sight, and you will find yourself sympathising with these oldies as they enjoy the limelight one last time.
