Introducting the TravelCard Battery project, which hopes to provide Apple as well as Android users with the benefit of having a power-packed charging companion by their side at all times.
Go Design On Kickstarter
The company that came up with this prototype is Go Design, and is up on Kickstarter seeking funding. The funding goal for TravelCard is $10,500, and it was reached within two days. Looks like the TravelCard is going to be very popular.
What The TravelCard Offers
Consisting of a 1300mAh battery, the TravelCard is capable of providing up to 5 hours of talk time, 4.5 hours of internet usage as well as 98 hours of standby after your phone’s battery dies out. It is accompanied by a Lightning or a microUSB charging cord.
Measuring just 4.77m in width, the TravelCard is relatively light at its weight of 56.7 g. It can fit into your wallet or pocket just like a credit card, offering you convenience and ease of use.
How It’s Made
The body of the TravelCard will be built using lightweight aircraft grade aluminum, in an Apple certified factory. A prototype of the external battery has already received approval from Apple for the MFi (Made for iPhone) program. The TravelCard will be available in colors of black, silver and sapphire blue.
Pricing And Availability
The cheapest version of the TravelCard is expected to cost around $40 and will be sold with an external battery priced at $45. It will begin shipping in May of this year.
