Zapata’s New Hoverboard
For those of you who are not aware, Franky Zapata0 is the guy who introduced the world to the Flyboard about three years ago. A Jet Ski champion hailing from France, Zapata created this small platform that flies at high speeds above the water with the help of an attachment to a personal watercraft nearby. Zapata is making a comeback this year, and his creation this time is even better than the last.

Meet The Hoverboard
Christened the “Hoverboard”, this model is capable of letting you glide at about 23 miles per hour, with the help of a single stream design that shoots from the back. This is different from the design involving two water nozzles because it makes use of the water exhaust from a Jet Ski. To ride, you will have to mount the board like you would a wakeboard.
Personal Watercraft Racing
The aquatic hoverboard was developed by Zapata’s personal watercraft racing company, and will propel riders over crazy waves. The Hoverboard’s chief attachment is a hose that is 59 feet long and connected to a Jet Ski or a speedboat.
How It Works
A strong jet of water released by the hose sends the board about 16 feet into the air, giving you a hybrid experience of flying and surfing at the same time. The ideology is to give surfers as much freedom as they need while surfing.
Extreme Sports At Its Best
Of course, the sport will require two people, as someone will have to drive the watercraft while you do a variation or surf-flying. Alternatively, there is an add-on Electronic Management Kit (EMK) available if you want to control the craft solitarily.
Availability And Pricing
Going on sale in late June 2014, the Hoverboard can be pre-ordered through Rocky Mountain Flyboard presently, for $2,675, or as a full kit for $5,850.
