But fret not, for Estel Alcaraz has designed the perfect solution for that in the form of lightweight Wellington Boots that come with a refreshingly unique twist.
Roll Em Up
Of course, you can’t carry rain boots around when there’s a forecast of rain. That is why these boots are capable of being rolled up and stuffed snugly into a bag. Going by the brand name Sardines, Estel’s boots are nothing short of handy.
How They’re Made
The Sardines rain boots are made out of injection-molded thermoplastic polyurethane, which is known to be a highly elastic, recycled plastic. What better material for the task than this because it is ideal for protecting your toes from the horrendous rain.
One Fifth Of Their Original Size
Based in Barcelona, Estel Alcaraz created these boots to squish down to almost one fifth of their original size, thanks to their unique dimensions. The idea came to her when she experienced getting stranded in the rain with the wrong kind of footwear, wishing she had brought her boots along. By the time she got home, she was soaked till her socks, and the first thing she saw was a squashed water bottle.
Drawing Inspiration
Looking at the bottle made her wonder why she couldn’t do the same with her rain boots and set out to make that a reality. The boots are made out of a material that is not just elastic, but also extremely affective in protecting you from the rain as well as carrying around. Available in a host of colors, the boots are accompanied by an elasticated strap for easy folding.
