Free Drake x Nike Air Jordan Shoes Selling For $100,000

The shoe market for sneaker heads is a lucrative industry. Millions of sneakers are sold, for double, triple, even ten times worth their original retail price.  It is a known fact that one of the most demanded shoe lines in the world are from Michael Jordan.  Nike’s collaboration with the NBA legend has caused riots, fights, and even deaths for these limited edition pairs of shoes.

Taking the classic laws of economics, they limit the supply for a sneaker that is in highly in demand.  Collectors and fashionistas scour the planet to get the most exclusive releases as they come out.

The newly global ambassador for the Toronto Raptors NBA team happens to be musician Drake.  With the amount of attention he has demanded internationally, his studio label OVO (October’s Very Own) teamed up with Nike and Michael Jordan to create the OVO x Air Jordan shoes.  As part of the marketing effort to rebrand the NBA team, the Raptors hosted a Drake night where Drake graciously gave away two of these unreleased pairs to two lucky fans. One was black and one was white.

This event has set the sneakerhead community ablaze, as immediately after the Raptors game the fans put them up for sale on Ebay.  After intense bidding, the shoes have skyrocketed from the initial $300 bid, to $100,000 USD with 4 more days remaining.
